How to cancel Microsoft 365
The steps to cancel Microsoft 365, checked on 21 Oct 2026 against Microsoft 365's own help page. If something looks different, that page has the latest steps.
Offers to stay
The cancel flow may show you an offer to stay, such as a discount or a pause. You can always say no and finish cancelling.
Steps
- Go to account.microsoft.com/services/microsoft365 and sign in.
- Select Cancel subscription (it may say Upgrade or cancel).
- Scroll past the offers and select I don't want my subscription.
Before you cancel
- If only “Turn on recurring billing” is shown, it already won't renew.
- If someone else bills you, such as an app store, a retailer or your mobile, TV or internet provider, cancel with them.
- Your storage goes back to 5 GB. OneDrive files over the limit may be deleted after 6 months.
Paid through Apple or Google Play?
If you subscribed in the Microsoft 365 app on your phone, Apple or Google Play may bill you. Then cancel it there:
